About Vanillin

Vanillin is the picture-perfect Eater - small, soft-spoken, and unfailingly polite. With his gentle voice and wide, adorable eyes, it's easy to forget what he actually is. The Bureau loves him for that. So do the people who wish Caramella would act more like this. Vanillin doesn't argue, doesn't resist, doesn't complain, even when the orders hurt. But if you look closely, there's something quiet behind his gaze - like a song he's never been allowed to sing, or a door he's been trained never to open.
